The smart-pathing technology permits for better maneuverability, and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is efficient, although it can get stuck on the tassels of the rug.
In our tests, we discovered that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to eliminate lots of debris on floors that were not bare, and a fair amount of rug with a medium pile. It was a little less effective on shag carpets which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust embedded in the fibers.
